Fairwarp VillageSports Field has been designated a Queen Elizabeth II Field
On Saturday 4th August the annual?Cricket & Croquet Day was held at the Fairwarp QEII Field?.? The plaque representing the new QEII status was unveiled on the day, along with the plaque representing FIT and their main sponsor .

The cricket match is between the village pub (the Foresters Arms) XI and the Village XI.? Villagers?were invited to join the Trustees with a picnic and a Pimms to support?the local teams and enjoy a family day out.
?The Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge
Fairwarp Sports Field is delighted to have participated in The Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge, led by the Duke of Cambridge, to mark the Diamond Jubilee in 2012 and to have been successfully designated a Queen Elizabeth II Field.

The Trustees of Fairwarp Sports Field, now known as Fairwarp QEII Field, are pleased to be working with Fields in Trust towards their goal to protect 2,012 outdoor recreational spaces by 2012 as a permanent, tangible legacy from both the Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympics.
?
Outdoor recreational spaces are vital to creating happy and healthy communities and can help to increase participation in physical activity, reduce anti-social behaviour and promote volunteering.

Fields in Trust Background Information
Fields in Trust is the only independentUKwide organisation dedicated to protecting and improving outdoor space for sport, play and recreation. Formed in 1925 as the National Playing Fields Association they aim to ensure that everyone ? young or old, able or disabled and whether they live in an urban or rural area ? has access to free, local facilities for healthy outdoor activities. Playing fields have a vital role to play in creating healthy communities helping not only to increase physical activity but also to foster social cohesion and improve the local environment.
